Singles’ Day 2026

We may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page.

Singles’ Day 2026 is Wednesday, November 11. The date is 11/11, which is why retailers treat it as an online event. In China it is a huge ecommerce festival. In the US it is a quieter pre-Thanksgiving sale: useful if you want to buy something before Black Friday crowds, not a replacement for November 27.

Related: Black Friday 2026 (November 27), Cyber Monday. Calendar page: Singles’ Day.

When it is

November 11 every year. In 2026 it is a Wednesday, two and a half weeks before Thanksgiving (November 26).

Veterans Day is also November 11 in the US. Do not mix the two in your title or your ads. This guide is the shopping date only. If you are publishing a Veterans Day page, keep it separate and do not hang Amazon tiles on it.

What to expect in the US

  • Some marketplaces and brands run 11.11 coupons.
  • Amazon may or may not badge it heavily; it is not Prime Day.
  • Stock is normal. You are not competing with a 5 a.m. line.
  • Anything you buy now can still use standard shipping for December.

If a listing is not actually cheaper than last week, skip it. There is another sale in 16 days.

How to shop it

  1. Use it for items you already wanted, not for a new personality.
  2. Compare the live price with the same SKU you will see on Black Friday. Screenshot it.
  3. Electronics and small home goods travel well. Fancy apparel still needs a return plan.
  4. Keep Veterans Day content and charity asks off this URL.

If you only shop one day, shop Black Friday or Cyber Monday. If you already know the item, November 11 is a calmer checkout.

FAQ

Is Singles’ Day a US holiday?
No. The shopping version started as 光棍节 in China and was scaled by Alibaba into 11.11. US sites borrowed the date.
Why 11/11?
The ones look like “bare sticks,” a visual joke for being single. Retailers kept the date because it is easy to advertise.
Should I wait until the 27th?
For a TV or a scarce toy, wait. For a known small item with a real cut today, buy it.

Short history

Singles’ Day began as a campus joke in China in the 1990s and became a major online shopping festival in the 2010s, especially around Alibaba’s 11.11 event. Western retailers added 11.11 promotions later. On TheDayOf it is a US-facing shopping guide, not a copy of the Chinese festival.
